Overview
Warner’s Filmbook DVDs were struggling due to their high price point and unappealing plastic security casings, which failed to grab attention in-store. To address this, I proposed an interactive AR solution, giving customers a dynamic way to experience the product before purchase. The activation was launched via QR codes on shelf blockers, allowing seamless engagement without the need for an app.

The Challenge
The main challenge was to enhance product appeal and engagement within the limitations of supermarket retail—where customers typically make fast purchasing decisions. The experience had to be visually compelling, intuitive, and optimized for varying mobile connection strengths while aligning with Warner’s branding and film assets.
The Solution
I led the design and development of the Web-AR activation, utilizing AR.js for WebAR, and built high-quality 3D models in Cinema4D with animations in Maya. The activation allowed users to explore Filmbook contents in an interactive 3D space, bridging the gap between physical and digital shopping.
The Result
The campaign was a resounding success, clearing shelves and leading to a complete sell-out of the Filmbook DVDs. By reinventing the in-store experience with AR, Warner not only increased sales but also set a new standard for engagement-driven retail marketing.
